Elements of the HR Operating Model
In some organisations the “3 Box Model” of HR does not quite fit.
Not all resources fit neatly into the categories of Shared Service, Centre of Expertise and Business Partner.
Creating a pool of god quality HR professionals can be a solution for:
- Bridging resource gaps across multiple business units or divisions
- Participating in and delivering HR projects
- Smoothing out peaks and troughs in demand for HR resource
- Building strong links with the HR Shared Services team
- Supporting Business Partners and Heads of CoE
- Picking up “face to face” casework from the shared services team
This is a great way to develop broad, generalist experience and future HR business partners and heads of centre of expertise.
It can also be instrumental in helping to reduce HR headcount.
There is no “one size fits all” model.
